The spate of extreme weather experienced in Japan, from strong winds to heavy rains, has rendered the current warning system insufficient. On 31st August, Japanese authority announced the addition of a new warning level, the 'Special Warning' level. This level exceeds the highest level of warning that can be issued so far. This 'Special Warning' level will be issued when super heavy rains or super weather conditions are expected.
