Post Office going into Senior business

Asahi Shimbun, 27th August 2013

From October, Japan Post Office is offering a new service to senior citizens. For 1050yen a month, the Post Office will send staff to visit these seniors at their homes once a month to ensure that they are healthy and have no problems. The office will also be holding gatherings for these senior citizens regularly.

This service will be first offered to selected areas, especially in places with a high population of senior citizens and where convenience stores are not in close proximity. Japan Post Office aim to spread this service nation-wide by 2015.
