"こんにちは", Konnichiwa, means "Hello" in Japanese. On this blog, I endeavour to bring you interesting/obscure news and happenings which you'd never get to read about outside Japan. This blog is not about big breaking news. It is about small unnoticed articles in the local newspapers, which can sometimes tell you more about the Japanese way of life than those big neon lights.

Auto-parking chairs
Nissan has made chairs that self "park" themselves when vacated. In a promotional video clip, such scenes can be seen : After a meeting, when people has left the room, chairs automatically repositioned themselves at the table. When people left the office at the end of the day, their chairs automatically came back to their respective desks. Cool! (But I must admit that I was spooked to see chairs moving by themselves on video, real spooky!)
